Approved General Contracting has been in business as a commercial contracting firm since 2003. The principal of the firm, Jose Fernando Garcia, has been deeply rooted in the construction industry since a very young age. Jose comes from a family-owned construction business which operated in Peru, South America. There he gained much of his early practical knowledge from his hands-on work in the construction of both commercial and residential properties.
After many years of experience in his family’s business, Jose pursued higher education in his trade and received his Degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad de Piura in Peru in 1997. With a great deal of persistence and perseverance, he then went on to graduate from New York University in Manhattan in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science. Jose continues his dedication to best practices with continuing education courses, specialized training, and by consistently meeting the requirements for numerous government certifications and permits.
As the company’s growth continues, Jose has found success by delivering a superior work product for complex private and public sector commercial projects throughout the Five Boroughs of New York City and Long Island. With his family’s deeply entrenched heritage of craftsmanship, Jose is proud of Approved General Contracting and the company’s accomplishments as a second-generation family-owned and family-operated business. Jose and his team are passionate about their work, always committed to excellence, and it is apparent in all that the company does.
